🚨Underworld Uncut – 6:00PM (GMT)

In 1979, Detective Constable Andrew Laptew interviewed Peter Sutcliffe - nearly two years before he was caught as the Yorkshire Ripper. Laptew explains why he became suspicious of Sutcliffe, what he remembers from the interview, and why he tried to get the investigation taken further.

Sutcliffe was eventually interviewed by nine police inquiry teams, with Laptew's being the seventh.

In this fascinating first-person account, Laptew recalls how different police investigations could overlap without crucial information being joined together, the press attention that followed Sutcliffe's arrest, and the lasting impact the case had on his life. Looking back, he reflects on what he wishes he had done differently.
